Birmingham-based Shipt pledges support to international multi-sport event
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The World Games 2021 Birmingham today announced that Shipt, a membership-based online grocery marketplace, has joined Alabama Power, Protective Life and Regions Bank as a Foundation Partner of the Olympic-style event.
Highlighting the new partnership is The World Games 2021 Experience delivered by Shipt, an interactive mobile exhibit designed to spread awareness and generate excitement for The World Games 2021. The custom-designed Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van and surrounding activation features a climbing wall, a sumo wrestling station, a powerlifting photo opportunity and an interactive trivia game with prizes.

The World Games 2021 Experience delivered by Shipt will make its official debut for an audience of more than 10,000 at the 15th Annual MortgageBanc Chili Cook-Off in Birmingham, Alabama, this weekend and will continue to make appearances across the region throughout 2019, 2020 and 2021. The World Games 2021 Birmingham will be an extraordinary Olympic-style sports experience where elite athletes from all over the world compete for gold in 34 unique, multi-disciplinary sports. Featuring 3,600 athletes from more than 100 countries, the international event will unite global fans with the Birmingham community in more than 20 unique venues around the greater metropolitan area. The World Games 2021 Birmingham, which marks the 40th anniversary of the event, will take place from 15-25 July 2021 and will generate an estimated $256 million in economic impact. The World Games was established by the International World Games Association, an organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
