BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Dec. 31, 2020) – Redmont Distillery, the first legal distillery to be founded in Birmingham, Ala. following the repeal of prohibition, has joined forces with The World Games 2022.

As part of the partnership between the distillery and the global multi-sport event, Redmont will be the Official Vodka of The World Games 2022 and will release special edition bottles to commemorate The Games.

“We are thrilled to partner with The World Games,” said Eleanor Estes, CEO of Redmont Distilling Co. “We look forward to welcoming the world the great city of Birmingham and being a part of this incredible event.”

Redmont has been nationally recognized for its vodka on multiple occasions, including medals at the 2016 Washington Cup Spirits Competition and the 2017 New York International Spirits Competition. Most recently, Redmont’s vodka was awarded a gold medal at the 2020 USA Spirits Rating competition.

The World Games 2022 CEO Nick Sellers said another Birmingham-based company partnering with The World Games was an exciting way to celebrate the close of 2020.

“I can’t think of a better way to toast the end of the year than with the announcement of this partnership,” Sellers said. “As we head into 2021, we’re grateful to have another hometown company join us in our mission of making 2022 the best-ever edition of The World Games.”

Redmont Distillery shares additional ties with The World Games 2022, as Alabama native and former NBA MVP Charles Barkley, who was announced as an Honorary Co-Chair for The World Games 2022, became a majority owner of Redmont in January of 2019.
