Britney Summerville is the Vice President of Community Engagement at Shipt & founder of Birmingham Bound.
Britney primarily focuses on making an impact within the city of Birmingham and across the South to drive growth and entrepreneurship specifically in the technology space. On a daily basis she develops and nurtures relationships with the goal of leveling up Birmingham’s technology sector.
Britney was an early team member at Shipt, a membership-based marketplace, enabling same-day delivery of fresh foods and household essentials across the United States. Shipt was acquired by Target in December 2017 and operates as an independent subsidiary serving many retailers. Britney created the Shopper Coaching and Retail Partners teams and created the internal mentoring and education programs at Shipt before starting Birmingham Bound.
Prior to Shipt, Britney was the Senior Vice President of Service at Daxko, a company that provides health club industry software. There she served on the executive team and led the software implementation, data conversion, training, and support teams. She is from Montgomery, AL and attended Auburn University.
Britney is passionate about the growth and development of Birmingham and serves on the boards of the 2022 World Games, TechBirmingham, REV Birmingham, Birmingham Kiwanis, and Wyndy. She made the Business Journal conglomerate’s National List of Executives to Watch, Birmingham Business Journal’s Person to Watch for the Decade, chairs the American Heart Association 2020 Go Red for Women, was a 2019 Women’s Fund Smart honoree, a BBJ 2019 Emerging Influencer, and a BBJ 2018 Woman to Watch.
Outside of work Britney enjoys spending time with her two little boys, Smith & Max, and husband, Tony.
